Iowa Quad Cities Job Market
Among Best in Nation

Iowa Quad Cities area employers expect to hire at a bullish pace during the fourth quarter of 2008, according to a Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. Among survey participants, the Iowa Quad Cities employment outlook is the eighth best in the nation.

From October to December, 52% of companies interviewed plan to hire more employees, while 7% expect to reduce their payrolls. Another 37% expect to maintain their current staff levels and 4% are not certain of their hiring plans.

For the fourth quarter, job prospects appear best in non-durable good manufacturing, Wholesale/retail trade, Finance/insurance/real estate, education and services.
